This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our platform, in compliance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

The Platform uses generative AI to summarize public-policy documents, generate intelligence briefings, and provide chat-based analysis. To deliver these features, certain information is sent to Anthropic, PBC (the provider of the Claude AI models we use), which operates in the United States.

Anthropic's API does not retain inputs or outputs for model training. Anthropic's data handling practices are governed by their Commercial Terms and Privacy Policy.

If you are part of a Team, Professional, or Enterprise subscription, your name and activity on shared features (shared watchlists, shared tracking files, team activity feed) may be visible to other members of your organization.

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Bear Pit Intelligence, our users, or others.

7. Cross-Border Data Transfers

Bear Pit Intelligence is based in Canada, and our primary application servers and databases are hosted in Canada. However, some of our subprocessors process data outside Canada — most notably in the United States and, in limited cases, the European Union (see Section 6).

When your personal information is transferred outside Canada, it may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction where it is processed, including laws that permit access by foreign government authorities. We require all subprocessors to maintain industry-standard security and privacy practices.

12. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Platform uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. These cookies are necessary for the Platform to function and cannot be disabled. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking technologies.

Email tracking: Our commercial emails (daily briefings, weekly briefings, alerts) contain a small invisible tracking pixel that allows us to know when an email was opened. We may also track when you click links within these emails. This information helps us monitor deliverability, measure engagement, and improve content. We do not currently use click-tracking redirects for security reasons. You can prevent open-tracking by disabling images in your email client.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Platform at least 30 days before the changes take effect, where reasonably practical.
